It’s so incredibly easy to find discounts for eBooks these days that you should never really have to pay retail price for them. From classics to bestsellers, here are the best ways to get free and discounted eBooks.
Project Gutenberg
The best source for finding classics.

Project Gutenberg has over 75,000 free eBooks available to download on its site. It was founded in 1971 by Michael S. Hart, who is also widely attributed with creating the first eBook. It mainly focuses on aggregating books whose US copyright has expired.
If you have an eReader, you should never be paying for classics. Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice, The Great Gatsby, all of Shakespeare’s works, Little Women–the list goes on and on–are all available for free. Each and every year more works fall into the public domain and Project Gutenberg will be there to archive them.
Stuff Your Kindle and Book Blasts
The best source for supporting indie authors.
Stuff Your Kindle and Book Blasts are limited time events where indie authors make their eBooks either free or heavily discounted (usually $0.99) for a day. Majority of these events are for the romance genre, as it was romance writers and readers who pioneered these events, but there are still events for all genres.

Bookbub
The best source for finding bestseller and recent release deals.

Bookbub is a free service that helps users find deals on eBooks. Its great newsletter feature sends deals on eBooks from categories you select or lists of books you curate. If you’re not one to check your email, they also have an app that sends notifications when a book you’ve added goes on sale.
Amazon First Reads

If you have Amazon Prime, then you have access to Amazon’s First Reads program. Every month, Prime members get to choose one (sometimes two or more) eBook to download for free. However, the list of books is usually quite limited with only around 8-10 titles to choose from each month, so you might not necessarily find something for you every time.
Good luck on finding some nice deals and stuffing your eReader with some great reads!
